No, I'm not talking about Drakes song where we are all busy running through the 6 with our woes I am talking about actually knowing your-self. How well do we know ourselves? When I began my Self-Love journey back in 2014 I didn’t have the slightest idea what knowing myself meant. I had spent a lot of time trying to find love in others, wasting my days gossiping, never feeling like I had time, procrastinating, procrastinating and procrastinating.
Your inner voice is your guide. Learn who you are vs who your ego is. Your ego is stuck in its old ways. It brings about procrastination, delay your good, and conjure up negative thinking and limiting beliefs. It is that voice you hear saying “No, one more day, tomorrow, not tonight.” It refuses to change. In many cases your initial reaction to a situation isn’t even necessarily your reaction. The ego reacts off past experiences and refuses to live within the present moment.
Spend sometime with yourself. Look inside yourself without passing judgement. This is not a race to see who can love themselves more. Trust your process. Be with your thoughts and understand that this is a journey to self-love. It will not happen overnight. It requires continuous practice and attention into the present moment and most importantly knowing YOU. You will get there, you and I both know you will.
